My night with Joe, Jenn, Matt, Amy, Mike, Chris, and Blink 182.

(This is filled with references to Blink.)

This night was sort of random.  I didn't know I was going to Blink till the night before.  "Oh what the hell, I think I will go to Blink."  I called Joey right after I took my ACT.  Speaking of the ACT, they added a 5th experimental part which included topics such as "Environmental Chemistry," and "Physics."  It sort of reminded me of Army Of Darkness scene when Ash saw the three books.  "Three Books?  Three Books?!?!?! No one ever told me ANYTHING about the THREE BOOKS!"

Immediately following the ACT, I was hauled off to my orthodontist.  Hey, now I only have to wear my retainer when I sleep.  By next summer, the retainer will be off and I will be packing for College, so in theory, I will be "Going away to College."

The Father and I went to White Hen, and picked up some eats.  I got two sandwiches.  One with ham and cheese, and one with turkey and cheese.  I got home and traveled to "Nutty Nancy's house."  Nancy is my neighbor.  She went out for the weekend, so I had to watch her dog, Oscar.  I like Oscar, he is one of the coolest wiener dogs I know.  What makes Nancy so Nutty is the fact that she doesn't call our house, she always walks over to my house.  She smokes a lot, and sort of reminds me of the lady who was on speed in "There is Something about Marry."

I played with the dog for about a half hour.  I got bored, and I walked home.  I sat on the computer for awhile, reading all of our hate mail.  My dad woke up from his nap, and started to talk nonsense to me.  "Casey, you have to mow  both Nancy's and our lawn."  "Dammit."

Not wanting to waste any energy, I sat in my chair and wasted fifteen minutes.  My dad mumbles some more stuff about "doing the grass."  I was really pissed off at this point.  I didn't want to do the lawns, I wanted to do them tomorrow.  I only could finish Nancy's lawn, my dad then persisted "that I had to wake up at 7 in the morning to finish it."  I am really hoping he forgets.  I would like that, a lot.  Lets see here, its 12:55, and I am not even one quarter of the way done.  Perhaps some aliens could come down and kidnap my Dad.  "Aliens Exist," you know.

I didn't give a fuck about waking up at 7, I WAS GOING TO SEE BLINK!!!!!  I took a shower, and called my mom.  She drove me to one of the greatest concert experiences of my life.

I arrived at Gate three.  I was supposed to meet the Fly Honeys at that gate.  I spotted Matt Holland.  I immediately ran over there and gave him a hug.  He was wearing a green shirt.  He was supposed to meet the band, and I was supposed to buy my 15 dollar ticket.  No one showed, except a few Fly Honey fans, they said hello to Matt, totally disregarding the dork wearing the "Kansas Jay hawks," t-shirt.  One person even ran into Matt, asking if he was in a Band.  I guess she was holding a show at the world, with only local bands.

Good went to worse,  getting tired of waiting for my so-called ticket, I went to a scalper.  Matt and I both pitched in to buy me a ticket.  30 $, not bad, for a scalper.  We walked into the gate, looking for Joey.  We did this for awhile. This was our lowest point.  We did run into the guys from Crash 33, and one of the dudes from Colorblind.  Fenix TX hit it, followed by a rocking set by Bad Religion.

Holland and I lost hope, and decided to hang out with the guy from Colorblind.  While up there, I saw Amy, a girl I met when I was last at Cafe Nisa, nice girl, fun to hang out with.  What is this?  A glimpse of hope?  "All The Small Things," are what life is about.  From the depths, Matt McGowan, Carlos Soto, and Mike Molaro appear.  Mike jumps on me and begins to hump me.  That is okay, because I do the same.  Matt wonders where Mike Svorcina is.

I hear a scream......A Matt Holland scream.  JOEY!!!!!  Joey walks up the hill with Cy.  They have the backstage passes!  I note Cy's hat.  It is signed by all the MEMBERS OF BLINK 182!!!!!!  I said "Joe! Don't leave me."

Blink opened up with Dumpweed.  This was going to be a rocking night after all.......

Matt Holland got the backstage pass first.  He rushed down there with a Girl I was un familiar with, Jenn, who turned out to be pretty cool.  Holland met Bad Religion, got a guitar pick, met Fenix TX.

Casey goes to go get a drink.  Something hits him.  4 months ago, I didn't like Blink.  4 months ago, Joey and I were not good friends.  I did not know any of the people I was hanging out with tonight.  Now I am at the World Music Theater with all of my friends, having a grand old time.  I was 17 years old, having an incredible summer with some of my new found friends.  17.  I was acting like a kid in Toys R' Us.  "What's my Age again?"

I ordered Pepsi cola.  Gasp!  I was one quarter short!  Thinking like a machine, I turned around and asked the adult in back of me if he had one.  He didn't, but after he got his food he did!  Rock, Casey has his cola, Blink 182 is playing.....Life can't get much better, but it does!  Only if I had a bag of "M&M's."

Once me and Joe gulped down the Pepsi, we went to the bathroom and I filled my cup up with water.  Matt Holland is walking up the hill.  He is back with Jennifer, with the backstage passes!  I didn't think she would take me down however.  She didn't really know who I was, but I think she knew that I did the website.  She handed me the badge, and told me to go with Matt.   I nearly fainted.  I was going to see Blink 182 backstage.  I wasn't walking down the hill, I was skipping to go backstage.  Some random hoodlum shouted "Hey, what'cha skippin' for?"  Only if he knew......

I pass through security untouched, for I have a BACKSTAGE PASS!  I open a door and it was very dark.  I was onstage!  Backstage to be exact.  We moved to the left side of the stage, and we stood nearly 10 feet away from the band!  Greg Gaffin of Bad Religion decided to stand next to me for about 3 minutes.  So did the guitarist from Fenix TX.  I was amazed.  We left backstage after about 6 songs.  Matt Holland wanted to be back with the Fly Honeys for "All the small things."  I honored his request.  We left after "Wendy Clear."

Blink did 2 encores.  First, they played Anthem.  After "Anthem," was over.  It got all dark.  The Mike from Blink 182 told the audience to hold up their lighters and sing to the tune of silent night.  After that little ensemble, he broke into a rather funny version of the "Thong Song."  The members of the band all ran out in there boxers and humped the microphones.  Funny stuff.  They broke into "Dammit," the crowd went nuts.  When it was all over, Mark, got to the microphone and said "Um...Hello, the show is over..." More funny stuff from Blink.

The only thing I hate about the world music theater, is the mass confusion trying to leave.  It literally took us an hour to get out of the parking lot.  Two girls got into our car.  Both were pissed off, but Joey, who is always thinking *cough cough* told them to blame him.  They immediate became quiet.  Both stopped talking.  It was neat, I got to show them around, and where I live.  The conversation was lively.  Jenn, Joey, Chris, Matt, and I did all the talking.  We talked 'bout our favorite cartoons, and other stuff like that.  The weird two said nothing.

They dropped me off at my house about 12:30, I said my good-byes.

Wow, what an amazing day.  It is funny how such misery can turn into one of the greatest nights I have ever had.  I met some people, got to talk to some other people, saw Blink 10 feet away, got a guitar pick by Greg Gaffin.  I would say I had a good day.  I can't classify the greatness of it.  It will just be known as "untitled."
